Brief Overview:
Early initiation of nPEP is essential! HIV nPEP is for HIV prevention, it stands for non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis. It is given after a potential HIV exposure—the first dose needs to be given as soon as possible and within 72 hours.
Learning objectives include:
- Feel confident with risk assessment for HIV acquisition.
- Demonstrate knowledge & skills on collecting swabs and specimens for STI screening.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills pertaining to assessment, treatment, and follow-up recommendations for people with known or potential exposures to HIV and other infections.
