Kerry L. LaPlante, Pharm.D., FCCP, FIDSA, FIDP is Dean of the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy and a tenured Professor of Pharmacy, as well as the founding Director of the Rhode Island Infectious Diseases Antibiotic Research Program at the Providence VA Medical Center. As a licensed clinical pharmacist, LaPlante is an internationally recognized expert on antibiotic use, antimicrobial resistance, as well as health policy implementation.
Learning Objectives:
- Analyze current trends in pharmacy practice and their impact on healthcare.
- Identify critical gaps and challenges in pharmacy services, including access and integration with broader healthcare systems.
- Describe actionable strategies for enhancing pharmacy's role in improving patient outcomes including those related to public health and HIV.
