Caroline L. Gummo, MHS is currently the surveillance manager for RIDOH's tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, and STD programs. She has a background in epidemiology, medical laboratory sciences, and a strong interest in infectious disease. In her current role, there are opportunities to touch multiple branches of public health, including data management and analysis, program evaluation and operations, grant preparation, community collaboration, and more.

- Discuss RI regulations for syphilis screening during pregnancy and adequate treatment during pregnancy
- Describe congenital syphilis pathways to diagnosis and CDC case definitions
- Underline syphilis testing algorithms
