Description
Kelly Matson, Pharm.D., BCPPS will give a didactic presentation on updates in respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) prevention. Dr. Matson is a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Matson is a board certified pediatric pharmacy specialist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. She currently is a preceptor for introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Learning Objectives:
- Evaluate the Melody and Medley trials for nirsevimab.
- Compare the Savvy and Matisse trials for maternal RSV immunization.
- Apply the current ACIP recommendations for RSV prevention in infants.
- Discuss indications of nirsevimab and maternal RSV immunization in infants and pregnant women with HIV infection.
